One of the highlights of the Tour’s year is our annual outing at the historic Indianwood Golf and Country Club’s Old (championship) course.  This US top-100 course has hosted a Western Open in 1930, the 1989 and 1994 US Women’s Opens and the 2012 US Senior Open along with numerous important regional events.  Larry Pinchback secured our 5 tee times in August this year where we were greeted with excellent course conditions and acres of golden (high) fescue.  Indianwood members Mickey Hyatt and Steve Kaloka hosted us and played in the first group out.  They’re playing partner neighbor Joe Reed and Roger Hill can attest to the joy these members found  in playing their course the old way.

Fine golf was found again at the championship course with John Cova’s 80, net 68, Bill Tuchloski’s 86, net 72.  Tim Stroshine’s fine 96, net 71 also figured in the good rounds at this tough course.

Another great time was topped off with our usual excellent dinner at the 24th Street Tavern in Oxford.  Sunset came and guys were still club trading in the parking lot. Another memorable MHT day!

Corrected numbers for the MHT tees at Indiawood are: course rating 68.3/ slope 124
